What motivated you to compete in Miss International, and what do you hope to achieve through this platform?
One of the most intriguing aspects of Miss International is their commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. These goals focus on solving global challenges, from climate change and zero hunger to quality education and marine conservation. As an animal lover and environmentalist, I deeply resonate with these goals, and I believe that using this platform, I can contribute to making a difference.
What message or cause are you most passionate about sharing during your time in the competition?
I believe that we all share one common identity: humanity. Our individuality is something worth celebrating. This is reflected in the core philosophy of beauty pageants, where contestants, despite differences in color, religion, and origin, harmoniously coexist. I believe that this is the way the world should be – a place of unity and peace, rather than chaos and division.
What cause are you most passionate about sharing during your time in the competition?
I have been involved in several humanitarian projects and environmental causes, but the one closest to my heart is establishing proper animal care centers in my country. From a young age, I realized that the most helpless beings are those who cannot speak or express their needs. My mother taught me that there is no greater achievement than standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. The message I want to share is this: Do not harm the stray animals you see, even if you cannot help them. They may be near you because they need something, and your act of kindness could lead to a loyal friend for life.
How have you prepared yourself mentally and physically for the challenges of this pageant?
Pageants are not the work of one person alone; it takes an entire team to help you reach your goals. It’s nearly impossible for a single individual to manage every aspect on their own, and it can lead to severe stress and anxiety. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to my National Director, Azra Mahmood, and her Talent Camp AMT for trusting me with this crown and supporting me at every step of the way .A huge thank you to the incredible designers who supported me: Sanaya Couture, Zain Iqbal, Poushee, Tasmit Afiyat Arny, Rifat Jahan Lisa, Warah, Afsana Ferdousi, Yasin Ahmed Sokal, Nusrat Sadiya Farzana, The Dress Room, Rulmaker, Trend Mart by Nahreen, and all the other designers who graciously lent me their dresses for this pageant. I also want to express my sincere thanks to Mahmudul Hasan Mukul for his unwavering support throughout this journey, ensuring that I represent Bangladesh in the best and most authentic way possible.
I am truly indebted to all those who have supported me every step of the way.
What qualities do you believe a Miss International winner should embody, and how do you reflect those values?
The most important quality I believe every human being should possess is compassion for one another. Compassion and humanity are what set us apart from other creatures. A woman who embodies compassion – someone who is kind not only to her own kind but to all creatures and the environment – deserves to win the Miss International crown.
How do you plan to use the title, if you win, to influence and inspire positive change globally?
Winning the crown is not my primary focus. My ultimate goal is to help those who cannot help themselves and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. This crown will certainly facilitate my journey toward that goal, but I will reach my destination with or without it, even if it’s a long road.
Can you share how the extra time spent learning about the market helped you make more informed decisions about which brands and designers to work with?
One thing I am certain about in pageantry is that authenticity goes a long way. If you stay true to yourself and avoid trying to fit into a mold created by society, you become a change-maker, a trailblazer. After modeling for quite a while, I have come to know and love certain designers, like Tasmit Afiyat Arny, Sanaya Couture, Rifat Jahan Lisa, Yasin Ahmed Sokal, Nusrat Sadiya Farzana, Poushee, The Dress Room, Bisshoieet, Rulmaker, Soumin Afrin, Zabin Iqbal, Warez Abdullah, Fardin Bayezid, Taan by Tanha Sheikh, Safia Sathi, Mahmudul Hasan Mukul, Rabiul Bari Rom, Trend Mart by Nahreen, and many others. These designers all have something unique – a sense of individuality – which is exactly what Miss International celebrates. I feel very fortunate to have their support and love in return.
In an industry where many models rush to work with big names, why did you feel it was essential to pace yourself and build your career gradually? How has that patience paid o?
Thank you for this question. Actually, two lines from different songs came to mind: “If history’s clear, the flames always end up in ashes,” and “Never trust an elevator that escalates too fast; it never lasts.” That’s why I’ve given myself time to fully master each stage of my journey and advance steadily. While I have no complaints about those who rush to work with big names, I believe it’s better to take our time, grow at our own pace, and allow ourselves to evolve fully.
What inspired you to start helping street dogs and cats, and how do you encourage others to get involved in supporting animals in need?
I’m an animal lover and a proud pet owner! My furry companion has been with us for 12 incredible years, Alhamdulillah. She brings so much joy to our lives, but whenever I see her, I’m reminded of the street dogs and cats who aren’t as fortunate. Their lives could be better if we showed them love, kindness, and provided food. That’s why my mom and I make it a point to feed street dogs in our area and even outside of it. I also provide medical supplies when needed. Huge shout-out to my mom for cooking meals for them, my brother for feeding them when I’m away, and my aunt, who has been caring for street animals for almost 20 years! I’m also grateful for kind friends who share the same passion.
As someone once said, “It’s hard to be hungry and unable to speak.” Let’s make a difference, everyone! Refrain from harming these innocent souls, and instead, provide food and medical care in your own area. If we all do our part, no dog or cat will go hungry or die without medication. Start small – every act of kindness counts and can create a lasting impact! Let’s spread love and kindness.
How do you balance the demands of pageant life with your personal growth and aspirations?
I know that balancing our lives can be very tiring, and I do get tired a lot, but I never get tired of it. I understand that everything comes with a price, and there’s no substitute for hard work. I try to focus on the positive aspects whenever I feel exhausted, and I don’t push myself too hard. I believe life can feel overwhelming if we try to carry it all at once. By under-standing the demands, trusting the process, and facing obstacles fearlessly, I manage to keep my balance.
Looking back at your journey since 2016, what advice would you give to young aspiring models in Bangladesh who want to follow in your footsteps?
I consider myself as a slow learner. I have failed on several occasions, and made mistakes multiple times. But I didn’t let those mistakes and failures define me. That’s why I want to share this exact message to the young girls who aspire to be models, which is you are not defined by your mistakes, you are not going nowhere just because you failed and made mistakes, you are wiser, more experienced because of those mistakes. Because if you never bleed you are never going to grow. So trust the process and believe that your dreams are valid.
