Made using chemical-free dyes and sustainable materials, Casa Benetton retains the brand’s signature style, while heeding to the millennial homeowner’s aesthetic sensibilities. “Adding home furnishing in our portfolio will cater to the customers with a complete home quality solution, with the already existing cookware and accessories range,” said Aruni Mishra, CEO of Bergner, in an official statement regarding the group’s latest collaboration.
LEVI’S EMPLOYS AI-GENERATED MODELS FOR A MORE ‘INCLUSIVE’ SHOWCASE
Al is the future of fashion, and Levi’s is clearly frontrunning the idea. The American clothing giant has reportedly collaborated with Lalaland.ai, an Amsterdam-based digital fashion studio, to generate virtual models that will showcase its clothing, as part of the brand’s continual commitment towards cultivating ‘more diverse, inclusive and sustainable; shopping experiences.’
An official statement released by Levi’s read: “Later this year, we are planning tests of this technology using AI-generated models to supplement human models, increasing the number and diversity of our models for our products in a sustainable way.” While the studio describes their virtual models as “bodyinclusive”, Levi’s has caught flak online for ‘substituting’ real-life models of colour with their new AI counterparts.
GAURAV GUPTA’S NEW KALA GHODA STORE IS A FUTURISTIC CAVE
From draping rapper Cardi B in an electric blue gown at the Grammys and having styled Jr. NTR at the Oscars, to opening his newest flagship store in Mumbai’s buzzing Kala Ghoda, it has been a winning year, so far, for Indian couturier, Gaurav Gupta.
Centred around the concept of Shunya — an interpretation of the duality between zero and infinity, the idea of limitless possibilities, which also served as the impetus behind Gupta’s showcase at the Paris Fashion Week in January — the three-storeyed 5,500 sq. ft store is fashioned to the likeliness of a ‘futuristic cave’, replete with minimalist brass racks, a white interior shell-esque sculpture, mannequins on a pedestal and the like. The outlet features menswear, an atelier for bespoke couture and his signature bridalwear collection.
SHANTNU & NIKHIL’S NEW MUMBAI OUTLET PAYS HOMAGE TO DISTINCTIVENESS IN DESIGN
Shantnu & Nikhil embarks on another milestone in their 22-year-journey, with the launch of a new flagship store in Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda. Mirroring the couture label’s design aesthetic of fusing edgy, elaborately carved contemporary cuts with heritage designs, the new 2,264 sq. ft address is housed within a restored 133-year-old structure, and is designed by acclaimed architect Viraj Kataria. Featuring the edgiest of designs for the new-age bride in addition to menswear, the store hosts two distinct areas into one cohesive space, resulting in a visually appealing design.
“Opening our flagship couture store at Kala Ghoda Mumbai is a proud milestone in our journey of twenty-two years. We have always been driven by ‘Anti-trend’ — an emotion that is deep rooted within the brand DNA, as we challenge the age-old perceptions of luxury to create a renewed outlook of ‘neo-luxury’. At our new couture stores, we present that very spirit of historic and celebratory India, with an array of timeless silhouettes, supreme hand craftsmanship and contemporary oomph. These new locations are a homage to distinctiveness in design, encapsulating the splendour and decadence of vintage India blending it with the easygoing yet individualistic modern India,” says the designer duo.
