The poet Jasimuddin captured the essence of rural life in Bangladesh like no other. Among his many masterpieces was Nakshi Kanthar Math, which portrayed the beauty, sorrow, hopes, and joys of life. His words hold up the fabric of our culture, and as such, these rare photos honor his life and accomplishments. He traveled to foreign shores, and met many cultural and political luminaries. As a poet, it is hard to find another one quite like him, especially when it comes to capturing the soul of our land. Here is a trip through his storied life, achievements, and the people he met along the way.
