Watch season 2 of Wednesday on a rainy weekend to get the vibe

I’m gonna dance, dance, dance
With my hands, hands, hands
Above my head
Hands together, forgive
him before he’s dead

Remember winter of 2022, we were all dancing to this song because Netflix had released the new show named Wednesday, a fresh take on The Addams Family franchise?

Well the show centers on Wednesday Addams, the macabre and brilliant daughter of the Addams clan. In Season 1, we saw her arrive at Nevermore Academy, a peculiar school for outcasts. Wednesday’s razor-sharp wit, obsession with solving mysteries, and deadpan humor made her instantly iconic. We also met Enid Sinclair, her colorful, sunny roommate and werewolf at Nevermore Academy. Enid was the perfect foil to Wednesday’s gloom, bringing humor, heart, and a touch of chaos to Wednesday’s otherwise grim world.

From navigating her love and hate relationship with her roommate Enid to uncovering the secrets of Tyler with whom she had a romantic interest but turns out that it was a dark manipulation of Hyde. Oh! Of course he is a Hyde, Wednesday Addams has a love interest and that would be a normie human, we can’t expect that right? Every encounter tested her cunning, wit, and sense of justice. Season 1 ended with some questions answered but it left plenty of room for her next dark adventure.

Wednesday Addams quickly became a trend setter back then and we all were loving her gothic, unfriendly aura. Those dark eyes and two braids had us all wrapped up.

Fast forward to 2025. Yes, it took them 3 years to release the second season. The first half of the second season came out this August and I started to binge watch it. But honestly maybe just the first 4 episodes did not do any justice to the entire plot. Maybe they released it this way so that they can build up the hype but with this stunt I kinda lost my interest for it and started to think that ohh maybe it was not a good idea to come up with a new season.

But to my surprise, the 2nd half of the 2nd season, which was released in September, had a lot of plot twists and I must say it did not disappoint me.

A new school year at the Nevermore Academy, a lot has changed since last year. Wednesday arrived at school with her family and especially with her brother who will be attending the academy. Wednesday reunites with her roommate Enid who is just as bubbly as she was. But this year Wednesday is known as a hero for her previous quest to save the school and her popularity is the reason that she gets a new fan named Agnes DeMille who trails her every action, but Wednesday can’t see her because she is invisible. And we also get some new characters. A new principal, a new zombie who has an old connection with her parents, we get to see Wednesday’s paternal grandmamma.

The first half of this new season shows how Wednesday was trying to strengthen her psychic ability as a raven, in that desperation she almost over-do it and messes things up for her and also for the people around her. Her desperation makes her do stupid stuff that her mother had warned her about but she had this premonition that her best friend Enid would die and she would be the cause for that and she made some desperate actions to prevent that which almost cost her life.

The 2nd half shows a bit more calm version of Wednesday who now has a guardian spirit. She is a very interesting character from season 1 and she has her head grounded. Wednesday now encounters more secrets and a very interesting plot twist happened at the very beginning of the 2nd half and that was one of the star twists of this season.

We got to see a special guest appearance of Lady Gaga and that was one of the highlighting moments from this season. We got many thrilling scenes with some sad moments too.

This season’s most mischievous character would be Agnes DeMille. In my opinion she pretty much carried the show with her devotion to Wednesday and her rivalry with Enid which later turned out to be one of the most genuine friendships.

And this season we get to see more of Gomez and Morticia Addams. Their dynamic is something else and the bickering between Morticia and her mother was a bit intense but kinda interesting, there lies some old secrets we can sense and that’s the essence of this mother daughter duo.

At the end of this season we see Wednesday set for an adventure with her uncle to find her lost psychic ability and that indicates that there are some possibilities that we might get a 3rd season.

If I have to say anything about how I felt watching Wednesday season 2 then I would say this season started off a bit clumsy but it took off the storyline in the 2nd half and I was satisfied watching it. The acting of all the stars were on point as usual.

Between gothic visuals, witty one-liners, and unexpected cameos, the show proves it still knows how to balance darkness with charm. And with unanswered questions about Wednesday’s powers and her family’s secrets, it feels like this chapter was only setting the stage for something even bigger, can’t wait to see how the next season unfolds. So maybe for now if you haven’t watched it yet then keep your rainy weekends free to catch up on the gothic journey of Wednesday Addams.
